HISTORY
1975 | On 15.09.1975, Rudolf Girstmair, an initially graduate typesetter, founded the company as an individual enterprise. The company was founded by importing fresh flowers such as proteas, banksias and exotic accessories. The business idea is to bring absolutely fresh goods of the highest quality directly from the producer to the market. The company name is: Rudolf Girstmair Grosshandel mit exotischen Blumen | ||
1977 | A booth at newly opened Flower hall at Munich Wholesale Market is rented. The distribution of the exotic (Fresh-) Flowers is also done Bavarian Gardening and Florist Fairs. | ||
1978 | Dried flowers are added to the range and marketed alongside the fresh exotic flowers. We still benefit from the experience of the fresh flower sector, as we know exactly when and where which flowers grow in order to guarantee the best possible quality. | ||
1981 | The fresh flower division is handed over to a business partner and since then we have concentrated exclusively on the import and marketing of exotic dried flowers and natural materials. | ||
1994 | Up to this point, the company founder Rudolf Girstmair mainly supplied the southern German region. | ||
1995 | Sales are expanded to all over of Germany and the first customers are acquired in Austria. | ||
1999 | Stefan Girstmair, the son of the company founder, joined the family business after graduating from high school and completing a year of community service. Since then, the company has grown continuously, now that the father's experience and the son's ambition can be combined. | ||
2001 | First participation at IPM Essen trade fair (booth size 20m²) | ||
2002 | Company Name is from now on: Rudolf Girstmair Exotische Trockenblumen The website www.girstmair.de goes online for the first time. | ||
2004 | First participation at Fair Mustermarkt / Trendset Munich (booth size 30m²) | ||
2005 | The company handover to the son is being gradually prepared. The booth size at IPM Essen is now 45m². | ||
2007 | The booth size at Trendset Munich is in the meantime 108 m². The booth size at IPM Essen is expanded to 95m². | ||
2008 | First participation at Ambiente Fair Frankfurt. | ||
2009 | Rudolf Girstmair e.K. is founded. The management is transferred to Stefan Girstmair and Rudolf Girstmair retires at the age of 67. The current managing director, Stefan Girstmair, can already look back on over 20 years of experience with the products, as he always helped out in his parents' business at a young age. | ||
2010 | Rudolf Girstmair GmbH & Co. KG is created through the spin-off of Rudolf Girstmair e.K. | ||
2011 | First participation at Christmasworld Frankfurt (booth size 80m²) The booth size at Trendset Munich is increased to 190 m². | ||
2014 | The customer base is growing steadily. More and more business relationships are being established with neighboring European countries. The booth size at Trendset Munich is expanded to 220 m². | ||
2015 | The booth size at Trendset Munich is now 325 m². | ||
2016 | The website is being completely revised and www.girstmair.de appears in a new and responsive web design. | ||
2017 | It is now exported to over 20 countries. The booth size at Christmasworls Frankfurt is expanded to 100 m². | ||
2021 | Digitalization is progressing and an online shop is being set up in the customer area of www.girstmair.de. | ||
2025 | The company Rudolf Girstmair GmbH & Co. KG is celebrating its 50th anniversary. |
